PT. Boma Bisma Indra abbreviated as BBI is the pioneer in Indonesian Industry and serves as the backbone of heavy industry. At the beginning, BBI manufactured engines and equipment for agro industry in coffee, tea, rubber and sugar cane plantations. This new company has come through history with the pain and struggle of independence fight, and then developed step by step.

On August 30, 1971 BBI officially founded and soon prepared itself to make a giant step in a journey through history to become a leader in business and technology. We decided to expand our boundaries, in various business areas, to strengthen our domination in technology and engineering by making a technology transfer through cooperation and license agreement with well known companies in the world.

Our first most important step was a license agreement with Stork Werkspoor Sugar - Holland in 1974.
From this point, BBI learned to develop its ability in designing, manufacturing and completing construction of sugar factory, palm oil, steam boiler and pressure vessel.

Next step was a license agreement with Klockner Humbolt Deutz - Germany in manufacturing of diesel engines in 1977.
This agreement set a wonderful course to BBI as a company that develops its strength and ability in energy conversion technology.
To anticipate fast movement of energy sector nowadays, quality demand and effort to make a breakthrough in technology, BBI made an expansion in diesel engine plant and industrial equipment plant equipped with flexible manufacturing system or precise machinery.
This effort combined with human resources has developed aggressively through various training domestic and abroad and scholarship to our competent employees. Those changes have been transforming BBI into a modern company featured with technology, equipment along with well trained, motivated and professional human resources.

In the year 1989, Indonesian Government included BBI as a member of Indonesia's Strategic Industry. As such BBI was getting full patronage from various Government Ministries like Industry, Finance, Planning, etc. Hence, being a strategic industry made BBI a strong organization.

BBI has grown rapidly and recently becomes a single management coordination focusing on every technology development, i.e. power generator, automotive application, pump set, earth moving machinery, agro based industry and more. We can handle from design, manufacture, and up to construction.
