In 1989 BBI started to become a member of BPIS / The
Agency For Strategic Industries as BUMNIS / State Owned Strategic Industry
consisting of PT. Barata Indonesia, PT. Boma Bisma Indra, PT. Dahana, PT.
INTI, PT. Krakatau Steel, PT. LEN Industry, PT. PAL Indonesia, PT.
PINDAD, PT. INKA and PT. IPTN.

Total Manpower of BBI reaches 2100 employees, with the
company assets of almost USD 45 million and sales revenue in 1999 for almost
USD 35 million.

Technology Transfer, Technology Development and Improvement
is the aim of BPIS to support National Industries. Anticipating the above
mission PT. Boma Bisma Indra is designated to specialize in and to be the
Centre of Excellence of its core product, supported by the appropriate
Technology as well as the Engineering capability on it’s Industrial sectors
and Business domain.
